Enkad recycles series 2-5 plastics with emphasis on HDPE, LDPE, PVC and PP waste streams in film, rolls and sheet form. Engineered alloy plastics are of special interest including PVC, PE and PU coated industrial fabrics, vinyl billboards, expanded vinyl/PU foam laminates, laminated or printed HDPE scrim, co-extruded or laminated PE, PVC with barrier coatings, PVC compounded with ABS or Acrylic.
Such muti-component co-extruded or laminated products are not readily recyclable into component streams but maybe deployed or downcycled into secondary use or products benefiting from the original alloy composite properties.
Plastics Recycling Facts & Perspective:
Plastics manufacture requires significant quantities of fossil fuels both as a raw material and the energy for the manufacturing process. Plastic production uses 8% of the world's oil production, 4% as feedstock and 4% during manufacture. In the current climate of upward spiraling crude price, blending recyclables into feed stocks can provide significant economic benefits.
Advantages of recycling plastics include * Reduced energy consumption * Conservation of fossil fuels * Reduced solid waste going to landfills * Reduced greenhouse gas emissions
